Charlotte, NC (Jan 24, 2023) – The Zabel Companies, an investment firm dedicated to partnering with management teams to invest in and build private companies, has announced the sale of its portfolio company, New Market Waste Solutions (“New Market”), a leading refuse and recycling consulting and management services company, to Waste Harmonics, a portfolio company of Arcapita Group Holdings.

Rob Ryan founded New Market in 2001, building the company into one of the leading waste management services businesses over the last 20+ years.  Zabel first invested in the Company and partnered with Rob Ryan in 2016.  Over the course of the partnership, Zabel helped New Market accelerate its growth strategy through a variety of initiatives, including building significant depth in the Company’s management team, upgrading New Market’s systems and technology capabilities, and implementing a strategic growth plan.  The Company’s sales and earnings increased three-fold and four-fold, respectively, over the course of the investment.
